J. Kent Murray has been named president of Chevron Research & Technology Co., a new unit formed by the combination of San Francisco-based Chevron’s engineering technology department and Chevron Research Co. Murray, 54, has been general manager of Chevron’s organization, development and compensation department. Jarold A. Meyer, 51, a chemical engineer, was named senior vice president of the new company. Currently, he is president of Chevron Research Co.
