Comedian Garry Shandling will be host of the 32nd annual Grammy Awards presentation this month, the Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences announced Wednesday.
Shandling is best known as the slow-talking star of the comedy television series “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show.”
The Grammys will be presented Feb. 21 during a live, three-hour CBS-TV broadcast from the Shrine Auditorium.
The awards honor artistic and technical recording achievements in 77 categories.
Shandling was a writer for television comedies before developing a stand-up routine of his own in the mid-1970s. He has also appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson”--for which he often served as a guest host--and “Late Night With David Letterman.”
