Woman Killed in Crash as Car Flips, Hits House

A woman in her early 20s was killed Wednesday afternoon when the car she was driving veered out of control at high speed and flipped over, crashing into the back yard of a house in La Mesa, authorities said.
The name of the victim was being withheld Wednesday night, pending notification of next of kin. She was the lone occupant of a 1980 Buick Regal that witnesses said became airborne and cleared a 6-foot chain-link fence after hurtling out of control on a curving section of Bancroft Drive, said Lt. Michael Wolfe of the La Mesa Police Department.
