The Kansas City Royals and outfielder Danny Tartabull reached agreement on a one-year contract today for $1.65 million, avoiding an arbitration hearing scheduled for this afternoon. Tartabull, a holdout in spring training last year, had sought $1.73 million. The Royals had offered $1.28 million.
