Claremont McKenna College and Pomona College have received a joint $500,000 grant from the Knight Foundation of Akron, Ohio, as part of the Foundation’s Excellence in Undergraduate Education program.
The grant will be matched by the two schools and used for projects such as a campuswide fiber-optic computer network that links students and faculty to library databases and off-campus centers.
The Knight Foundation was established by John S. Knight and James L. Knight, founders of the Knight-Ridder Inc. newspaper chain.
