After reading Mary Fleischer’s letter (Feb. 4) on alternative areas for reasonably priced homes, I felt compelled as a real estate agent to tell you about Tehachapi, the land of four seasons, located 120 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
Tehachapi is rapidly becoming a bedroom community to the Antelope Valley. Commuters from Rockwell, General Electric, Edwards Air Force Base, etc. find the drive traffic-free.
Home prices range from mid-$80,000s to the mid-$200,000s for new construction.
Tehachapi has a small-town atmosphere where people are warm and friendly. Residents enjoy mild summers, beautiful falls and awakening poppy-filled springs.
