Dennard Resigns as Titan Football Assistant

Preston Dennard, the former Ram receiver who became an assistant football coach at Cal State Fullerton last year, has resigned to pursue other opportunities, he said Saturday.

“I have a lot of other talents I wasn’t able to use, such as my literary abilities,” said Dennard, who wrote poetry as a player. Dennard also has worked in broadcasting, and said he wants to do more work in that field.

Although Fullerton officials say there has been some discussion of trimming the Titan staff from nine to eight assistants for budgetary reasons, that has not yet happened.
