Stormie Jones, the 12-year-old who became the world’s first heart-liver transplant recipient six years ago, received a second new liver, replacing an organ ravaged by hepatitis since her initial transplant. There were no complications during the 10-hour operation at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., hospital spokeswoman Marge Buczynski said. Stormie, of White Settlement, Tex., was listed in critical condition, considered normal following transplant surgery. The success rate of a second liver transplant is estimated at 65% to 70%, hospital officials said.
