Palos Verdes 63, Glenn 40--Center Monique Morehouse, a 6-3 sophomore, came off the bench to score 16 points and spark the Sea Kings to a 20-4 advantage in the second quarter of a 3-AA quarterfinal at Excelsior High in Norwalk.

Morehouse scored eight points in the second quarter when Palos Verdes took command by opening a 36-14 halftime lead.

Coach Wendell Yoshida said going with a taller lineup helped the second-seeded Sea Kings (26-5) pull away for their 18th consecutive win.

“We put a power lineup in and did a better job on the boards,” he said. “We did what we wanted to do. We made them make the adjustments.”

Guard Lisa Humphreys scored 15 points for Palos Verdes, 6-foot center Kristen Jaconi added 14 and 6-foot forward Mary Maloney had nine.
