Mother of UCI’s Bill Mulligan Dies
Dorothy Mulligan, the mother of UC Irvine basketball Coach Bill Mulligan, died Wednesday in Chicago. She was 82.
She had been in failing health for several years, according to Irvine sports information director Bob Olson.
Mulligan will leave for Chicago after tonight’s game with fourth-ranked Nevada Las Vegas at Irvine.
He will miss Saturday’s game against Cal State Fullerton. Assistants Ernie Carr and Tim Murphy will coach the team against Fullerton.
