Malibu : Conservancy Head Named
Carole Stevens has been appointed chairwoman of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, replacing Rorie Skei, whose two-year term has expired, a conservancy spokesman said.
Stevens, a Los Angeles County transportation commissioner who also serves on a steering committee for UCLA governmental affairs, has served on the conservancy’s board for eight years.
The conservancy is a state agency that buys and preserves parkland and trails for public use in the mountains that surround the San Fernando and La Crescenta valleys. It is headquartered in Malibu.
