BUENA PARK : Construction Begins on 2 New Off-Ramps
- Share via
Construction has started on two new off-ramps on the Santa Ana Freeway, one northbound ramp onto Manchester Boulevard and a southbound ramp onto Beach Boulevard.
Today, the Buena Park Chamber of Commerce will hold a ceremony to celebrate the city’s successful effort to gain the off-ramps after about 30 years of lobbying state officials. The business community is thrilled that traffic will soon be flowing onto Beach Boulevard, the main drag of Buena Park, said Fred Sica, chamber director.
City officials also expect the off-ramps to boost several redevelopment projects planned for the area, including a shopping center to be built at Artesia and Manchester boulevards and an auto dealer row.
The city has been trying to woo auto dealerships. No dealers have committed to Buena Park, though the city is negotiating with three dealership owners, said James DeStefano, the city’s director of developmental services.
Construction of the off-ramps started in January and is expected to be finished in October.
