Eastwood Sues Tabloid: Clint Eastwood has sued the Globe, a weekly supermarket tabloid, alleging that it falsely claimed extremists threatened to kill him for refusing to speak at a convention of white racists. The lawsuit, filed Thursday in federal court, alleges the Jan. 2 article in the Globe, headlined “Nazi Thugs Put Bounty on Clint--But Dirty Harry Won’t Lay Low,” was false, inflammatory and constituted invasion of privacy. Court papers filed on behalf of the actor say he never received such an invitation and never received any death threats. Eastwood is asking for $2 million in general damages.
