“The Wonder Years” and steamy “Santa Barbara” are among the television shows headed for Polish audiences under an agreement announced between Polish TV officials and an American outlet.
The two-year agreement between Polish Television Channel 2 and Annapolis, Md.-based Conduit Internationale Films calls for provision of programming and selling of advertising for the station.
Formerly one of Poland’s two government-operated channels offering a slim variety of news, current affairs and regional programs, Channel 2 has been converted into a commercial operation under Poland’s new, non-communist government.
In a statement released with the announcement Monday, Conduit Internationale said it reached an agreement with the New World International production company to provide “The Wonder Years” for Channel 2.
Other New World features heading for Poland include the daytime soap opera “Santa Barbara” and the crime-adventure show “Wise Guy.”
