Paramount Sued Again: A screenwriter has alleged that the plot for “Harlem Nights” was stolen, and is suing star Eddie Murphy, Paramount Pictures Corp., and others, for $35 million. Michael Greene, 35 of Uniondale, N.Y., alleged Tuesday that parts of the movie were lifted from a script he claims to have written for Murphy in 1988. Both screenplays were about 8-year-old orphans raised by underworld characters in the 1930s and both had a corrupt Italian plainclothes cop, he said. Paramount lawyers denied the allegations, saying such similarities are shared by hundreds of movies. Greene has never had a screenplay produced. In January, a judge ordered Paramount to pay Art Buchwald for his script ideas used in Murphy’s 1988 hit “Coming to America.”
