Basketball Drama Postponed: The death of basketball star Hank Gathers on Sunday prompted CBS Monday to reschedule a children’s drama that was to have aired today because the program depicted a high school basketball player collapsing on the court, as Gathers did. The player in “Malcolm Takes a Shot” suffers an epileptic seizure and doesn’t die, but a CBS spokesman said that, out of respect for the family of the late Loyola Marymount athlete, the network would hold the drama for later broadcast. It scheduled instead a repeat of another children’s drama dealing with free speech, “Words to Live By.”
