Busboy Who Was Shot in Holdup Dies
GARDEN GROVE — A busboy who was shot in the back last week during an attempted robbery at a Garden Grove restaurant has died as a result of his wounds, police said.
Margarito Alvarado, 25, initially was paralyzed from the neck down after being shot March 14, Garden Grove Police Sgt. Randy Tucker said.
Authorities at UCI Medical Center in Orange had initially listed Alvarado, whose address is not known, in fair condition after the shooting.
“But he took a turn for the worse,” Tucker said Wednesday night. “I was surprised to hear that he had died.”
During the robbery attempt, a lone suspect entered Mihoo Restaurant in the 9000 block of Garden Grove Boulevard and demanded money.
