Southern Section, City All-Stars to MeetinBasketball

Dana Jones, the City Section 3-A Division boys’ Player of the Year, heads a list of area high school basketball players who have been invited to participate in two all-star games Friday at the Forum.

North Hollywood’s Steve Miller will co-coach the City boys’ team against a Southern Section squad.

A girls’ game with a similar format is scheduled to begin at noon. The boys’ game is at 2 p.m.

Others expected to play include Jermoine Brantley (Granada Hills), Bobby McRae (Cleveland), Falicia Stanley (Kennedy) and Sara Wilson (Hart).

Cal Lutheran basketball will sponsor a three-on-three tournament Sunday, April 29, at the campus gym. The tournament is open to players aged 18 and older; teams will be put into levels of competition by age groups.

Each team is guaranteed at least two games, and cash prizes will be awarded to first- and second-place finishers as well as consolation champs. Entry fee is $50 per team if preregistered and $60 per team on the day of competition.
