Hachette Puts Woman’s Day Up For Sale: Hachette SA’s U.S. publishing business said it plans to sell Woman’s Day magazine for strategic reasons and to reduce its debt. The company said it wants to concentrate on special-interest magazines that it can expand internationally. The investment banker Veronis Suhler & Associates Inc. was hired to conduct an auction for the magazine over the next several weeks. The sale will include Woman’s Day, with an average circulation of about 4.7 million, as well as the 21 Woman’s Day Specials, separate publications that generally focus on topics such as house appliances or Christmas festivities.
