Lindley Wins Golf Title in Nevada

Leta Lindley of Carlsbad took first place Friday in the Las Vegas Founders’ Legacy Junior golf tournament at Green Valley, Nev.
Lindley shot a final-round 73 for a three-round total of 220 on the par-72 Legacy course. Lindley defeated Patti Sinn of Bellflower by three shots.
Todd Demsey of Rancho Sante Fe finished second in the boys’ 15-18 division with a final total of 216. Demsey shot a final-round 71 and finished eight shots behind winner Trip Kuehne of Dallas.
San Diego’s John Hoffman was eliminated in the second round of match play at the Trans-Mississippi Championship at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Hoffman was beaten by Steve Earsley of Lubbock, Tex., 4 and 2.
