Superior Industries Posts 2nd-Quarter Earnings Rise
Superior Industries International Inc. said its second-quarter net income rose 6% from a year earlier on a 9% increase in sales.
The Van Nuys-based maker of wheels and other automotive equipment said its profit in the quarter that ended June 30 climbed to $4.47 million from $4.21 million, while its sales rose to $75.4 million from $68.8 million.
Superior said sales of its aluminum wheels remained strong despite general sluggishness in sales of domestic cars.
For the first half of 1990, Superior’s net income climbed slightly to $8.16 million from $8.14 million a year earlier, and its six-month sales increased to $138.3 million from $131.7 million.
