NEW MILFORD, Conn. — Veteran movie actor Richard Widmark was resting comfortably in New Milford Hospital today, recovering from a leg injury received in a lawn mower accident.
“He’s doing fairly well and resting comfortably,” said Hank Fanberg, a spokesman at New Milford Hospital, where Widmark was admitted Sunday night.
The spokesman said doctors may decide today whether the 75-year-old actor was well enough to be released.
The one-time movie tough guy was taken to the hospital by ambulance after his left leg became tangled in the mower while he was cutting the lawn at his home in Roxbury.
Widmark underwent successful surgery to repair the damage.
