Bay Daughter of Mr. Prospector Sold for $1.2 Million

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — A bay daughter of Mr. Prospector brought the top price of $1.2 million during Tuesday’s opening session of the Fasig Tipton Saratoga thoroughbred yearling sale.
The filly was purchased by Luca Cumani as agent for a buyer who wasn’t identified.
The filly was consigned by White Birch Farm, which also offered a bay filly by Nijinsky II that went for $1.1 million to Tom Skiffington.
Fifty-three yearlings sold for $12.54 million, an average of $236,717 per transaction. Last year’s opening session brought in $12.92 million, with an average of $339,526 per lot. The sale continues today and Thursday in the Fasig Tipton Center near Saratoga Race Course.
