NEW YORK — “Miami Vice” star and powerboat racer Don Johnson said Tuesday that he is taking his favorite sport to the Hudson River on Aug. 18.
The race is sponsored by the Offshore Professional Tour, which Johnson heads.
The course will run 10 laps from Spuyten Duyvil in the Bronx to Tarrytown, a distance of nine miles, Johnson told a Manhattan news conference.
Johnson, who races his personal boat in competition, holds second place in the Superboat class--boats that can travel up to 135 m.p.h. on straightaways.
