REACHING OUT: A new proposal for a public safety center to house sheriff’s deputies and community outreach programs in Santa Fe Springs will be discussed Monday at a 6 p.m. City Council meeting.
APPEAL CONSIDERED: A Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Tuesday will consider the appeal of Billy Joe McIlvain, a former San Gabriel police officer convicted of murdering a teen-age gang member in 1977. McIlvain, 45, who is serving a life sentence in state prison, contends that jailhouse informants lied at his trial to win leniency for themselves.
MULTI-SCREEN THEATER: A proposal for the construction of Long Beach’s first downtown multi-screen theater project comes before the City Council Tuesday for final approval.
