Sunshine State’s Lures
Florida is offering a number of off-season bargains.
Palm Beach has free coupon books through Dec. 20 that are good for discounts, two-for-one admissions and complimentary gifts at 95 restaurants, shops, sightseeing attractions and sports centers.
For example, you can play a free game of jai alai, pay half-price for windsurfing lessons and get sailing discounts on Crown Cruise Line.
If you stay at any of 42 hotels in the Palm Beach area for a week, the seventh night is free.
Copies of the “$500 of Palm Beach Free” coupon booklets can be obtained by contacting the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau at (800) 242-1774.
If the Key Largo area is your destination, you can obtain a free copy of “Stay Down Longer,” a coupon booklet offered by the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce. The booklet has 67 coupons worth 25% to 50% off at resort hotels, restaurants, stores and sightseeing attractions.
Some of the coupons are 2-for-1 deals, while others provide a certain percentage off the regular rate. Hotels may offer an extra night free once you stay a couple of nights. Coupons are good until the middle of December.
Contact the chamber of commerce at (800) 822-1088. It will mail you a copy of the booklet.
Alamo Rent A Car in Florida is offering coupons to renters for a free one-day SeaEscape cruise from Ft. Lauderdale/Port Everglades, Miami and St. Petersburg. Coupons, good until Dec. 30, are available for as little as one day’s car rental. Port, service charges and state taxes are extra.
