A man on a borrowed motorcycle was killed this morning in Sun Valley when he lost control of the cycle while attempting a high-speed stunt, Los Angeles police reported.
Police said John Angel, 23, of Sun Valley died at 1:20 a.m. when the motorcycle flipped over backward while he was attempting a “wheelie”--a stunt in which the rider raises the front wheel of the motorcycle.
Angel died when his head hit the pavement on Vineland Avenue. Officer Leona Thomas said Angel may have been intoxicated. An autopsy is planned to determine if he was drunk.
