Walnut : Garbage Fees to Increase

Garbage collection fees will go up 6.7%, beginning Oct. 1.
The City Council voted last week to allow Webster’s Refuse Disposal to raise its monthly fee from $9.35 to $9.91 for single-family homes and from $6.20 to $6.62 for apartment or condominium units.
However, the city denied a 95-cent increase sought by Webster’s in its monthly fee for curbside collection of recyclable materials.
The new fee scale will remain in effect through Jan. 31, 1992.
