The Green Bay Packers offered holdout quarterback Don Majkowski a new contract, reportedly worth $8.5 million over five years.
Majkowski’s agent, Randy Vataha, told the Milwaukee Sentinel that about 60% of the money in the Packers’ latest offer is deferred, making the real value of the contract about $1.45 million per season.
Because Majkowski would be tied into the contract for five years, Vataha said the Packers’ previous offer of $1.2 million for one year is still more appealing.
Majkowski had been seeking a five-year contract for $14 million.
