Hewlett-Packard Co.: The computer maker cited slowing sales rates and increased expenses and taxes for a 5% drop in its third-quarter earnings, to $178 million. Sales in the period ended July 30 rose 8% to $3.2 billion. Separately, the Palo Alto-based firm said it is moving its PC group headquarters to Grenoble, France, from the Silicon Valley.
