Susan Chow, an assistant to the city manager in Buena Park, has been appointed assistant city manager of Monterey Park.
Chow, who graduated from Cal State Long Beach and holds a master’s degree in urban planning/administration from UCLA, was chosen from a field of 68 candidates. She succeeds Stan Soo-Hoo and will start her job Sept. 3.
Before being hired by Buena Park in 1987, Chow was assistant to the city administrator in San Bernardino, administrative assistant in the Santa Ana city manager’s office, an Orange County planner and a planning assistant in Pasadena.
Chow will receive a $64,596 annual salary.
