In connection with construction of the arcades along the north side of the Prado in Balboa Park (“Nostalgia Shows Its Ugly Side,” View, July 19), the approving authorities have done the right thing. This is an example of the wishes of the masses prevailing over the wishes of the architectural experts.
Let us hope construction of the second arcade along the sculpture garden and the west wing of the San Diego Museum of Art will be accomplished promptly. Balboa Park will be a much nicer place when these projects are completed.
