Colombia has more than doubled the reward for information leading to the arrest of drug lord Pablo Escobar to almost $1 million, according to a new army pamphlet. Soldiers handed out the pamphlets in Colombia’s cocaine center of Medellin during the weekend, offering $960,000 for information on Escobar, residents said. The new amount is more than twice the $385,000 reward previously offered for Escobar, the boss of the Medellin cocaine cartel. The authorities regard him as public enemy No. 1, responsible for ordering scores of bombings and the assassinations of dozens of people.
