Crescenta Valley 24, Burbank 14--Senior running back Jason Schwaiger rushed for a game-high 84 yards in 12 carries and scored on runs of five and 29 yards at Burroughs High to lead Crescenta Valley.
Quarterback Aaron Schaefer connected with Ray Grijaiva on a 26-yard scoring pass to give Crescenta Valley (1-2) a 14-0 halftime lead. Schwaiger scored on a five-yard run in the first quarter.
Trailing, 24-0, Burbank (1-2) scored all of its points in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Jason Chandler completed 14 of 27 for 165 yards and one touchdown.
