Dave Hartman of Canyon High and Jeannie Rothman of Westlake are the favorites in the boys’ and girls’ races at the Royal High cross-country invitational, beginning at 9 this morning at Moorpark College.
Hartman timed 14 minutes 33 seconds for three miles and placed second in the Seaside Invitational in Ventura two weeks ago. Rothman ran second in 17:23 at the Woodbridge Invitational last weekend.
Chief contenders for the boys’ team title are Camarillo, the defending state Division I champion, Channel Islands and Fillmore. Channel Islands and Westlake will compete for the girls’ championship.
