Camp Kilpatrick 14, Village Christian 14--Camp Kilpatrick kicker Rafael Sarabia’s extra-point attempt with 26 seconds remaining sailed wide to the right in the nonleague game at Kennedy High.
With Camp Kilpatrick trailing, 14-8, in the fourth quarter, Sarabia launched a 31-yard pass to Corey Henderson, putting the Mustangs at the Crusader five-yard line. Two plays later, running back Bobby Wilson slammed into the end zone from a yard out to tie the score, 14-14.
Camp Kilpatrick trailed, 14-0, in the fourth quarter when Sarabia connected with Michael Black on a 56-yard touchdown pass with 3 minutes 29 seconds to play. The kick attempt was fumbled but Sarabia salvaged a two-point conversion with a pass to Kenneth Young.
With Village Christian leading, 7-0, in the first quarter, Rick Nickels recovered a fumble by Camp Kilpatrick quarterback Clarence Scranton on the Crusader two. Village Christian marched 98 yards in 16 plays and opened a 14-0 lead on a two-yard pass from Mark Vail to J. B. McLeod.
Vail completed eight of 21 passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns and suffered two interceptions.
