Apple Computer in Talks With Toshiba: The Japanese electronics manufacturer said it was in talks with Apple about a possible technology venture, days after Sony Corp. revealed it was discussing a joint venture with the California computer company. A Toshiba spokesman said Apple had approached his company but he would not comment on reports that Apple is interested in Toshiba’s “notebook-sized” personal computer. News reports have said the companies were negotiating a deal to give Apple an inexpensive “notebook-sized” version of its Macintosh computer.
