Major Dan?: Vice President Dan Quayle has spoken with the producers of the CBS situation comedy “Major Dad” about making a guest appearance on the show next month. Although the Vice President’s office confirmed that conversations have taken place, they said the appearance seems doubtful. But “Major Dad” director Michael Lembeck said the appearance was instigated by the Vice President himself. Lembeck said he received a call from Quayle after a show in which the major’s Marine base prepared for a visit by the Vice President that was later cancelled. “He told us how appreciative he was that we had a good time with the story while we were respectful at the same time.”
