CONEJO VALLEY : School Union Proposes 30% Pay Increase
- Share via
Union leaders representing 600 workers in the Conejo Valley Unified School District submitted a contract proposal to the school board Thursday night calling for substantial salary increases and lottery bonuses.
The proposal by the California School Employees Assn., Chapter 620, seeks a 30% raise over the next three years and 15% of the district’s lottery funds.
The current contract calculates raises based on the amount of money the school district gets from the state. The proposal would give classified employees--including secretaries, custodians, maintenance personnel and food service workers--a 10% raise each year regardless of state funding.
The district plans to submit its proposal at the school board meeting to be held Nov. 8. A public hearing is scheduled Nov. 20.
School board members were not available for comment Thursday night.
