LACE Sues Gallery Over Name: LACE Inc., the Los Angeles gallery and performing arts center, sued LACE Fine Arts, a contemporary art gallery on La Cienega Boulevard, and its owner for trademark infringement. In the federal lawsuit, LACE, which stands for Los Angeles County Exhibitions, said its name was registered with the state last year and that the art gallery owned by George Mayers is operating under a confusingly similar name. (Case No. 90-5433. Filed Oct. 9, 1990).
