From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Hurricane Nana turned its 75-m.p.h. winds north toward Bermuda, but forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami said a cold front moving toward the hurricane from the northwest could cause the storm to miss the island. The hurricane system, which was traveling about 5 m.p.h., was about 245 miles south-southwest of Bermuda. A hurricane watch was in effect for the island, and forecasters said it likely would remain in effect through today.
