USD Soccer Team Wins 7th in a Row
The University of San Diego men’s soccer team won its seventh consecutive game by defeating host Cal State L.A., 4-1.
Philip Button scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season, both assisted by Paul Gelvezon, 41 seconds apart late in the second half, for 17th-ranked USD (13-1-4).
Tom Crane, who scored his sixth goal of the season to tie the score, 1-1, also assisted Gelvezon on Button’s second goal. Toby Taitano, a Valhalla graduate, broke the tie by scoring his third goal of the season.
Cal State L.A. fell to 6-7.
