Prospective Jurors Asked If They Watched TV Show
A judge screening prospective jurors Monday for the second penalty trial of Dr. Richard Boggs asked them to disclose whether they saw a TV show last Friday about the mysterious murder case.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Florence Marie Cooper moved proceedings to the large jury assembly room, where about 300 prospects were given questionnaires to fill out on the length of time they could serve.
“Last Friday, ‘America’s Most Wanted’ did a story on this case. If you saw it, write it down” on the questionnaire, the judge said.
Boggs was convicted July 12 in a complicated murder case involving identity switching and insurance fraud. But the jury deadlocked on whether to recommend life in prison or the death penalty for the Glendale physician.
Boggs, 57, was convicted of murder, grand theft, assault and insurance fraud in the murder of Ellis Henry Greene.
