FOUL SHOTS: Marina High School basketball star Cherokee Parks had a surprise Monday--announcing that he will enroll at Duke University (C1). “Everyone was picking me to go to UCLA because I’m from Southern California,” said Parks, the county’s most recruited player. “Everyone figured I would stay home, but I didn’t want to.” . . . It’s been a bad month for Bruin basketball. Earlier, UCLA freshman forward Ed O’Bannon from Artesia High, just across the Orange County line, was lost for the season with a knee injury suffered in a pickup game.
