New York Negotiations: The major production studios, represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, are negotiating with the New York local of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and Moving Picture Machine Operators for a new contract to replace one that expires today, but talks were reported at an impasse. Film production in New York reached a high this year of 127 city permits for feature films through Oct. 19.
