SIMI VALLEY : Anti-Vandalism Patrols Planned
- Share via
To keep Halloween vandalism to a minimum, a group of volunteer radio operators will patrol Simi Valley schools and surrounding neighborhoods tonight, beginning at dusk.
The Simi Valley Radio Emergency and Associated Communication Teams (REACT), armed with radio equipment in at least eight private cars, will check each of the 26 local school sites throughout the evening, said REACT President Norman Peterson.
REACT volunteers will use loudspeakers to ask trespassers to leave, Peterson said. If the trespassers do not respond, or crime or vandalism is observed, volunteers will contact the Simi Valley Police Department by radio, Peterson said.
