OC’s QBs: Orange County has a reputation for growing nugget quarterbacks, such as Troy Kopp (C1). The most famous so far is John Huarte of Mater Dei High School, Notre Dame and the Boston Patriots. . . . But in just the last five years, six county preps have quarterbacked in the pros and six more now call signals for major-college teams. . . . The reason? “In Texas, they run. Here, we pass,” says Bill Cunerty, a coach at Saddleback College.
