Douglas, Rams Take More Punishment, This Time From Fans
A few words in defense of Buster Douglas:
For him to have won the heavyweight title last February required nothing less than the heart of a champion. Weighed down by the personal tragedies he had suffered, weakened by illness and under medication, he managed to pull off the biggest upset in boxing history. He found within himself a reservoir of strength and will that most of us will never know, including those who are saying that he didn’t belong in the same ring with Evander Holyfield.
For a moment in time, he was the Champ. And like the man said, “Can’t nobody take that away.”
