A woman pleaded not guilty Tuesday to shooting and stabbing her mother to death in a slaying in La Canada Flintridge that also allegedly involved the suspect’s 11-year-old son.
Victoria Madeira, 43, of Anaheim entered a plea of not guilty to the Oct. 14 killing of Roma Jaul Jacobs, 78, and was ordered by a Municipal Court judge to return Nov. 27 for a pretrial hearing.
Jacobs was attacked as she sought help by telephone. Madeira was dressed in combat fatigues and her son was wearing girl’s clothing when deputies arrested them in the back yard of the dead woman’s home. The boy previously pleaded not guilty to murder.
