Concerning “The Prince of Darkness,” Patrick Goldstein’s Oct. 28 article:
Being from the Bronx, I take offense at director Abel Ferrara’s statement, “In the Bronx of the ‘50s who knew what was legal and what wasn’t?” His comment about “being ready to do battle with anyone who wasn’t Italian,” moreover, makes him more comparable to David Duke than Woody Allen.
I suggest Ferrara stop idolizing Manson Scorsleazy and try Frank Capra. One’s values have more to do with one’s upbringing than where one is from.
